Yoga & Self Inquiry Retreat in Goa, India
March 10-16, 2019
Satsanga Retreat Centre, Verla Canca, Bardez, Goa

6 nights/7 days of asana, pranayama, meditation, workshops, reflection, group & self inquiry, music, movement, wonderful clean, healthy food (that we don’t have to cook!), Ayurvedic massage & treatments, water, wonder, palm trees & presence.

A chance to take a break from your ‘normal’ – to nourish & open the body; settle the mind & inquire deeply into its less helpful ways; little by little to heal the heart; and ultimately to remember Awareness as the truth of who we really are.

About the Yoga:

Lucy will guide 2 sessions daily – mornings a lusciously long practice of meditation & pranayama, followed by a smooth, fluid, Vinyasa or Slow Flow to warm, open, energise, and relax. Afternoons will be varied, and may include Restorative practice, with long holds of supported postures (using props) to access the deeply healing para-sympathetic nervous system, & our natural great peace; guided movement meditation with music; workshops; discussion; reading & poetry.

All Lucy’s classes are infused with heart-centred yoga philosophy, guided inquiry, mindfulness of breathing & stillness, and a loving invitation to welcome all that is.

“I so loved your style of yoga – the yoga and place stay as one of my fondest India memories from the whole 3 month trip we took. THANK YOU for a wonderful, restful, stimulating, relaxing yet active retreat. It was perfect”. ~ Claire Ash-Wheeler, Devon, UK

About Goa, Satsanga and the surrounding area:

North Goa has been home to many an artist, hippie, seeker, dancer, yogi, and lover of life since the 1960’s, and as such is a very diverse, international, colourful, and eclectic place.

Goa is more relaxed than the rest of India in it’s attitudes towards foreigners and dress codes, and in contrast to much of rural India, here you can find wood-fired pizza, falafel, incredible bakeries, organic produce etc.

There are plenty of great day trips 5-45mins from the retreat by taxi, including Anjuna Flea market (every Wed), the Saturday Night Market, Mapusa market (everyday), beach trips, cafes, restaurants, music and dance performances.

Satsanga is an absolute oasis and place of retreat. I spent a month there once whilst running a teacher training with Yoga Arts and felt little need to leave much at all. For more about the centre & its facilities go here.

Food:

From Satsanga’s website: “Nourishing your life takes more than just sunshine, yoga and friendly staff (although these are important factors, found here!). The food you eat and fuel you drink is everything. Our kitchen serves full-body satisfaction on every plate and in every glass, leaving your body buzzing in gratitude.”

Enough said! The food is amazing.

Allergies & sensitivities can be catered for ~ please let us know any special needs when you register.

Getting There & Away:

Flights ~ the closest airport is Dabolim Airport (GOI), not to be confused with Genoa (GOA)! Some airlines now fly directly to Goa, but most fly to Mumbai or other, from where you change to a short domestic flight to Goa. https://www.skyscanner.com.au/ is great for comparing prices & routes.

Transport from airport ~ once your flight details are sorted, please let us know by email and Satsanga will arrange for one of their drivers to meet you and bring you directly to the retreat (price TBA). If already in Goa then you may arrange your own transport. Google map at bottom of web page here.
