Women’s Winter Yoga & Restoration Retreat with Lucy & guests

2016 Dates TBA

Women need real moments of solitude and self-reflection to balance out how much of ourselves we give away.
~ Barbara De Angelis

This is a retreat designed especially for women, with an emphasis on nourishment. To be nourished is to feel deeply satisfied, not just on the physical but at the level of heart & Soul. Our ‘food’ this weekend is the company of women; lots of yoga both fluid and restorative beside an open fire; meditation; stillness; soulful music; guided inquiry through art journalling; beach & lighthouse walks; massage; and time to curl up in front of the fireplace or soak in the outdoor spa.

Byron Shire is a place dear to my heart – the beauty of both the hinterland and the coast invite reflection, inspiration, and healing.

This is a chance to slow things down… soften the edges, clarify purpose, remember what’s important and let go of what’s not.

Koreelah is a beautifully restored original farmhouse, with absolute privacy and uninterrupted hinterland views, just 4 mins drive to the beach. It’s big old central fireplace and large outdoor hot tub make it perfect for a winter weekend.

“There was such a beautiful generosity to this retreat. From your heart felt classes, to the sharing of stories between us women, the amazing food from Jody and all the extra lovely touches such as massage, art journaling and music.” ~ Yeojin Bae, Fashion Designer

About the Yoga
Lucy will guide 2 sessions daily – mornings a Smooth fluid vinyasa sequence to warm and energise, leading into pranayam & meditation. Afternoons will be all about Restoration, with yin & restorative asana, guided inquiry, breath & stillness. All Lucy’s classes are infused with heart-centred yoga philosophy, and an attitude of both devotion and surrender.

“Thank you for being honest and real, the retreat would not have been so wonderful without your knowledge and calming energy.” ~ Amelia Collins, psychotherapist

About Koreelah and the surrounding area:
Koreelah is a sympathetically renovated 1910 Farmhouse, on 10 acres of Byron Bay hinterland. The house is positioned for total privacy with uninterrupted views of Mt Warning and the surrounding hinterland, as well as coastal glimpses. All rooms open onto verandahs, with the main covered deck over-looking the pool and heated spa.

The beauty of Koreelah is its quiet, secluded hinterland location, while still being just 4 minutes drive to the town centre of Byron and selection of local beaches including Belongil, Main Beach, Clarkes, The Pass, & Wategos.

Accommodation:
We will have exclusive use of Koreelah for our retreat, which is limited to 8 participants for a really intimate and nourishing long weekend.
All rooms are lovely, spacious, and centrally heated. Accommodation is twin-share.

Food as Medicine:
I’m both excited and honoured that qualified health coach, yoga teacher, cookbook author and food stylist, Jody Vassallo, will be cooking for us this weekend!

Jody will also be available for 1hr personal consultations during the retreat, in which she’ll look at your body type; the life habits that are serving you; as well as behaviours that are making you feel ungrounded, anxious or unhappy. If you’re wanting to make a shift at the deepest level you will benefit greatly from one of these sessions. Jody has studied food as medicine in many forms but favours her Ayurvedic teachings in these consults.
A 1 hour session is $100 including a page of recommendations for your body type.

“I met Jody at a time of deep stress and fatigue. She set me on a journey of self healing and I haven’t turned back. She is one of the most knowledgeable Ayurvedic chefs and practitioners I’ve had the privilege of spending time with. She resonates with you on a level that is real. I now have a much greater awareness of my body, of my soul, of my relationship behaviour and of my creativity. Thank you Jody, I will forever cherish my healing experience with you.”  ~ Nicole Merrie, Graphic Designer
